BMW of Bellevue
Bellevue, WA
139,945 SF of expansion/rehabilitation on an 8.86-acre site that integrates a modern design and bold layout. This 3-story facility includes an automotive dealership, service drive-thru, a 61-bay service department, and structured parking. The facility's structure comprises post-tensioned, precast, and tilt-up concrete paired with structural steel. The structure is enclosed with an aluminum storefront and curtain wall system. The showroom exterior is entirely clad in glass which boasts a 45' tall vehicle display tower. (http://www.foushee.com/project/213392)
I was brought in to oversee the project when it was roughly 20% under construction. It was a relocation site for the existing BMW of Bellevue. Also, a part of this project was a complex logistical move of the existing dealership sales, service, and parts operation, all while remaining open to business. It also included the turnback of the original facility to the owner. The development team was able to get occupancy one day before the State of Washington went into a strict lockdown due to the pandemic. However, since automotive service is an "essential" business, we could continue operations following a strict protocol.
